Venue Spotlight

Quick tips for some of the most-visited stadiums. These presets load parking info, transit options, and arrival-time suggestions.

Dodger Stadium

Arrive 90 minutes early. Stadium parking is $30 but lots fill fast. Consider the Dodger Stadium Express bus from Union Station to skip traffic on the 110.

OutdoorMLB

SoFi Stadium

Massive complex. Use the app to prepay parking ($50+). Rideshare drop-off is on Victoria Street. Gates open 2 hours before kickoff for NFL games.

Indoor/OutdoorNFL

Madison Square Garden

No parking worth using. Take the subway to Penn Station and walk in. Bag policy is strict: clear bags only, nothing over 14×14×6 inches.

IndoorNBA / NHL

Lambeau Field

Tailgating is the main event. Neighborhood parking starts 4 hours early. Bring layers even for early-season games. Wisconsin nights get cold fast.

OutdoorNFL

Chase Center

Thrive City plaza opens 3 hours before Warriors games. Rideshare on 3rd Street. Muni Metro's T-Third line stops right at the arena.

IndoorNBA

Fenway Park

Historic but tight. No re-entry. Kenmore Square Green Line station is closest. Obstructed-view seats are cheap but check the view chart first.

OutdoorMLB

Common Game-Day Mistakes

Arriving at Game Time

Gates open 60 to 90 minutes early. Parking lots take 20-40 minutes to navigate on game day. The walk from your seat row can be another 10 minutes. If you arrive at kickoff, you'll miss the first quarter.

Ignoring the Bag Policy

Most stadiums now require clear bags or have strict size limits. A backpack that's too big means a trip back to the car. Check your team's policy the week of the game.

Overpaying for Food

Stadium food runs $8 for a soda and $18 for a basic meal. Eat before you go or hit a nearby spot. Some venues let you bring sealed water bottles and small snacks.

No Weather Plan

Outdoor games in April or October can swing 30 degrees between afternoon and night. Bring layers, a rain poncho (not an umbrella, which blocks views), and sunscreen for day games.

Forgetting the Exit Strategy

Everyone leaves at once. Rideshare surge pricing can triple. Parking lot exits take 30+ minutes. Plan to stay for the post-game show or sit in your seat for 15 minutes while traffic clears.

Not Charging Your Phone

You need your phone for mobile tickets, photos, rideshare, and checking scores. Bring a portable charger. Some venues have charging stations but lines are long.

Questions Fans Ask

Can I save my plan and come back later?
Yes. Click "Save This Plan" and everything stores in your browser. When you return, your last plan loads automatically. You can also copy a share link that encodes all your settings in the URL.
What if my stadium isn't in the preset list?
Choose "Custom Venue" at the top of the dropdown. Enter the name and the planner uses generic estimates. You can still set your own travel time and parking cost.
How accurate is the budget estimate?
It's a planning range, not a price guarantee. Ticket prices vary by opponent and seat location. Stadium food and merch are marked up, so the ranges reflect typical fan spending. Use the sliders to match your own habits.
Does this work for outdoor and indoor venues?
Yes. The checklist adapts based on whether the venue has a roof. Outdoor venues add weather-related items like sunscreen, rain gear, and layers. Indoor venues focus on comfort items and arena-specific tips.
Can I print the checklist?
Click "Print Checklist" at the bottom of the timeline panel. It opens a clean print-friendly version with your venue, date, group size, and all checked items.
Is this only for professional sports?
No. It works for college games, minor league parks, soccer matches, or any live event with a set start time. Just pick Custom Venue and fill in your details.
